Which Type of X-ray Machine is Best for your Facility

If you are unsure about what type of X-Ray equipment is best for your facility, we will go over the many different types to help you make the right choice. When thinking of having fixed, mobile, or portable X-Ray machines, there are many important factors to consider. Here at Medilab Global, we provide facilities with used medical imaging equipment or refurbished radiology equipment, and we offer a wide variety of X-Ray modalities. We have Refurbished X-Ray Machines For Sale and used X-Ray Machines For Sale.

Floor mounted X-Ray or X-Ray Room

When thinking about purchasing a floor-mounted X-Ray, the first thing to consider is the room you have available for the medical imaging equipment. If you have a whole room designated for X-Ray diagnosis, chances are you are looking for an X-Ray Room. The many components of X-Ray rooms include the generator, X-Ray tube, collimator, tube stand, wall stand, and radiographic table. This room is recommended to be 8 x 10 or bigger to fit in all the necessary components. If you are looking to purchase new equipment, Medilab Global recently became an official provider for AMRAD equipment, meaning we now offer many options for new floor-mounted X-Ray machines.

Ceiling mounted X-Ray

Compared to a floor-mounted system, a ceiling-mounted X-Ray will have the X-Ray tube suspended from the ceiling. This modality is more costly since more work is to be done during the installation process. It can be very versatile for facilities, but it is surely more complicated to install. The advantages of purchasing pre-owned medical imaging equipment are many, and at Medilab Global, we are sure to meet your needs!

Portable X-Ray machines

We recommend a portable X-Ray machine for smaller clinics with less patient traffic. These are easier to handle, low-powered, and affordable. Since they are so practical, your facility can also keep one as a backup option whenever needed. This unit is usually powered by rechargeable batteries and transformers, making them different from Mobile X-Ray systems. For portable options, be sure to check out our new arrivals!

Mobile X-Ray machines

Very much like a portable X-Ray system, this option is handy and convenient. A mobile X-Ray is able to disassemble to fit in the trunk of a car and can be easily transported. This type of unit is usually powered by a wall outlet and is very convenient and cost-effective.

Analog vs. Digital

Analog systems will most likely always be cheaper than digital systems, and they don’t require batteries or Wifi to store or transfer the images and are easier to maintain. On the other hand, digital systems are more advanced, convenient, and useless radiation. The images can be easily transferred within facilities and patients and can be evaluated without waiting on processing the cassette.

In conclusion, deciding which type of X-Ray equipment is best for you requires you to evaluate all the different factors involved.
