More about Medical Imaging

Medical imaging has a critical role in health care, mostly because it is the main tool for diagnosing patients everywhere. Medical imaging provides an inside look or scan of the human body making it possible to diagnose all types of conditions. And although the term is broad, let us guide you through the different types of medical imaging. At Medilab Global we provide the healthcare industry with Used Medical Imaging Equipment, if you’re looking to invest in pre-owned or Refurbished Medical Imaging Equipment, feel free to contact us!

CT Scan or CAT Scan: Computer tomography uses X-Ray technology to scan the whole body and produces clear images of internal organs, blood vessels, soft tissues, and bones.

MRI: Also known as Magnetic Resonance Imaging uses radio waves and a magnetic field to discover dysfunction or injury in the brain and the spinal cord among others.

Ultrasound: An ultrasound uses sound waves to transmit from a probe to the body with the help of conducting gel. Ultrasounds are used mostly for viewing the fetus during pregnancy but what many people don’t know is that they are also used for scanning the stomach, breasts, kidneys, and muscles.

X-Ray: These work through electromagnetic radiation and on a wavelength and frequency that humans cannot possibly detect. They can diagnose fractured bones, cancer, and digestive issues.

PET Scan: Or Positron-Emission Tomography detects gamma rays from a previously injected or otherwise swallowed radioactive tracer.  When the rays are detected the tracer turns them into images, and the color on the images determines potential diseases or problems in the body.

All of these systems help doctors specify and detect important issues in the body, making it possible for patients to receive optimum results and treatment.
